Have-a-Go Courses for 2024

If you would like to see if archery is for you, then a Have-a-Go Session is probably best. We are running 2 x sessions on each indicated day – an AM session (10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs) and a PM session (14:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs) with a maximum of 10 candidates on each session (Places do get booked very quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment). Participants can choose to take part in the AM or PM session on each day. This is not an instructional course but more of a 2-hour taster, for candidates to see if they would like to take up the sport and then if so to subsequently sign up to and undergo the required Beginner’s Course, in order to join the Kent Police Archery Club, or any other archery club as a new archer. The Have-a-Go fee is £20.00 for adults (18 yrs and over), and £10.00 for juniors (under 18 years of age). Any adult who then elects to go on to take part in a Beginners Course during 2024, having first taken part in a Kent Police Archery Club Have-a-Go day this year, will then be offered a £10.00 discount towards their Beginner’s Course (this limited offer unfortunately does not extend to juniors). (Please note the course fee is non-refundable – however if a candidate is unable to attend a date they have booked it can be transferred to another date offered). Juniors can be a candidate on these Have-a-Go sessions, but we in our club only accept juniors from the age of 10 years onwards. All juniors meeting the age criteria must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, as under Archery GB rules Coaches cannot supervise juniors.) – CLICK ON RELEVANT LINK BELOW FOR PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION COMPLETION USING PARTICIPATION FORM ALSO BELOW

All Archery equipment required will be provided.  (If you have your own equipment, please do not bring it, unless just to show the coaching team, as Archery GB regulations require Beginners to use club equipment for insurance purposes) If the course you wish to attend is run during the summer then sun tan lotion is an important consideration as our range is quite a sun-trap, if an autumn or winter course with the possibility of inclement weather, wet weather clothing and towel are also essential extra items to bring. As previously mentioned our Beginner’s Course is a one day very intense course, running from 08:00 hrs through to 17:00 hrs managed and overseen by Archery GB (AGB) licenced coaches. All candidates and Coaches are covered under AGB insurance during the course. Juniors can be a candidate on these Beginner’s Courses, but we only accept juniors from the age of 10 years onwards.
